Let the first video serve as the teaser for the narrative arc of the past month. Really grateful for this thanksgiving week where I sit, stay, paw and feel sweet on all the sweethearts.

Annual happy birthday post for my mom! I get to be her daughter, her best friend, her delight, her pride and joy even in her absence. This year, I’ve felt her wildly powerful love in all the things I do. My truth is entwined with how she endowed me with her hardcore trust of me; what a gift that she shared her deep knowledge of my qualities when she was alive. Maybe other people get to believe what their mom says to be truth in their parents living-lifetime, but it’s taken me ten years to hear her clearly. She sang, she danced, she cried SO hard for the people she loved and this year I’ve sang, danced, cried and she’s blaringly with me in all my pursuits and decisions. Caring this much, priding this hard— I’m boosted because of her. These are some photos that remind me of her. My mom the beauty absorber, the master gardener, the namesake for our Baby Holly who looks like she’s already learning to cook with the cat (my mom’s show was Cooking with Remy the poodle), the sunset exclaimer, fiery tomato mama! 🩷💜❤️‍🔥

They both know the depths of grief that comes from losing your life partner to cancer and now they both prioritize each other’s delight. My dad said “I’ll honor your past” and I cried cried at what an easy, upstanding thing that is to say and mean at ANY age (they both are septogenz even though they look like spring chickens).

Bride and Groom danced down the aisle to a beautiful Just the Two of Us! 5. Baby Holly! 6. Nancy calls her subscription to flowers her therapy and I think that may be step one of the good life. 7. My dad with two of his life-long best friends!!!!! 8. Last sliver of my stumbly speech; couldn’t be a completist to my own metaphor. “Not just a family unit, but a family ______” 9. Silly moments with favorite teen nephew and favorite cousino before both of them dazzled the dance floor!

My mom found out she had cancer literally cause she was dancing on tables at my brother’s birthday party in May of 2014 and died a year and a half later. If you know me, you know that loss/grief/time was hella informed by losing my best friend Chase and her parents in a car accident in December, 2007. Getting to speak Holly’s and Chase’s names aloud with new friends all last week IS ROCK SHAKINGLY awesome! Getting to know Tiffany and Lucas and Stephanie and Bill and Taige and Barry and so many more dead loved ones IS MY ABSOLUTE HONOR.

An absolute HONOR to AD "The Flies", written and directed by Nick Magalhaes (combination Eggers and POTUS; he is wow). CHARMINGly starring the deep, awesome Actress, Meredith Starkman. What great vibes on set Produced by the hilarious, charming and diplomatic Jonathan Hebert. And the Cinematographer, Josh Echevarria, made a #fisher11dolly look like a dance partner AND laughed at all my jokes, so we love him. Hieu Tran--up in the air, pavement pounder, never on a 10-1 nor a 10-2 despite his t-shirt’s warning-- Key Grip extraordinaire to his partner in light and electric, Gaffer, James Powers (apropos surname, amirite!?) Secret Weapon on the set was Dale Weed as the AC with focus so crispy it was a golden marshmallow of your dreams. We couldn’t have made such a gorgeous picture (and practical FLY collection) without our Production Designer, Gillian Waggie. Excellent sound by Steve Skarlow! Clutch grip help by our instagram friend Collin Shaw. And absolutely WOW to the cardboard cookie waving of the sweetest, most helpful PA Colby Jenkins.

Written by a formerly incarcerated woman (@rta_arts !) and meant to screen inside to ease discussions of some of the emotional lessons that aren’t so easy to talk about, nor anticipate before you reintegrate into society, but that art can stir, boil, cook. Honored to be the 1st AD to Director @castersonic and Producer @juanchoyep and elite EP @ladykatekenney I ADORE this CAST AND CREW!

Beijing Rodeo BTS:

This selection of pictures is literally just from ONE DAY on set… I can’t even say it was the most epic day we shot cause every inch of work done on this film was tremendous.
1. Filming in Dixon Place was a triple layer cake of sets being distinct AND interacting in nuanced/glorious ways.
2. Beijing Rodeo: The Music Concert Experience is all from the mind of Kenny Geiler. I’ll walk to the end of the earth to make movies with this genius sweetheart.
3. Lucky Assistant Director, Madeleine Joyce, with motivations and physicalities for our Chinese extras and therefore Mandarin and Cantonese translators.
4. Shot by the one and only Noah Fowler. A Cinematographer who KNOWS and FEELS it all!!
5. Is that a Jersey House Inspired Line Dance?! YES, yes it is! Choreographed by the iconic Carlie Sue Anderson and dance-off’d by our imaculate star, Anna Crivelli, aka RED.
6. WHO is behind all the colors, textures, saturations and bubble walls? Jacqueline Brockel a mad and joyous wizard angel. (Not pictured another color and light genius Dino Davaros with Pigeon Plate, my god, his tube lighting screamed!)
7. Kenny wrote in a Cigarette Girl, duh! Here Mads is just relaying the business plan to get all these prop cigs sold before the Duel starts, honey.
8. There will be a whole post dedicated to clowns one day soon. Maggie and Siddharth absolutely DIVINE matador/bull duo irresistably costumed and styled by luscious creator Gina Ruiz.
9. Even the BTS (all these particular photos x Jon Tylor) was epic… mira these palimpsests of every dancer grooving SO hard.

(HEL vibes) The obvious to state is that my bffforever @kenda11m is a genius Director and getting to play around in her and newbffforever Director Dudas’s minds is SHEER delight. @petesybon for President and @margaretburrus for ViP! These three assembled a BRAVO team and Lordy loo am I grateful to have AD’d their great idea turned rock solid script in their Los Angeles oasis with the greats all around me (looking at you @jonheb1 @milesbon @karularu @itsashleymaria @daniellehaxtonmua )! #2Girls1Ghost

July, 2023 1. Biked to riis beach alone 2. Can’t recommend that as an antidepressant action highly enough 3. Also clowning with your kids @theboofnyc 4. did the #poorthingsfilter for this “I’m biking alone again” post… July was hard, but i seem to have made the most of it 5. things looked up when @j3hartman and I took a babymoon hunty! 6. this may look like a beach selfie or w/e but we were trying to get the competitive lifeguards doing a rescue behind us… 7. Ask me n jenny to sing “everyone’s going towards the road” about how friendships will change and morph with time… unless a polite decline would ruin things between you and me… 8. This #pinoak so dense it created a portal into another dimension 10. London Plane Trees took over “favorite tree” for just this month cause their bark sheds (and has bite) and makes me want to make crowns like that one book I read when I was little— what was it called? The one with the woman who bathes by moonlight and makes a crown of bark?

Simon says these are #notfunnymemes but I’m here to public swervice announce 😂I want to tell the world about my first #citizenpruner #treepruning session with @treesny ! I’m almost certified to prune the #streettreesofnewyork which also means doing lots of #treeadvocacy and engaging with the people who walk by who #wimperlikeatree thinking that what we are doing is hurting the tree— naw! The opposite! #joyfromatree noises because pruning can prevent future damage by untrained citizens or truck drivers, stimulate new growth and reallocate the trees’ food/resources to other branches that slurpily want it. We also had someone ask us to do a bigger job than we are safely supposed to do (last slide; hard to see the damage, but the limb will fall) and so we reported it like you can do also and easily on the @nycparks website! Any questions?

WYOMING week one with the wild open exploration opportunity from the @trarwyoming to immerse myself as fully in my art and the place as I can. Not pictured: the kind people I’ve met so far, the legal pad note scribbles from those conversations, my attempts to learn how to yodel, my crazy ass walking down the street and reading a book cause you canNOT do that in NY, my cell phone locked away for 4 hour blocks, my throat comfort yogi tea tags.
